How It Works
Set up your profile and preferences, learn how offers work, and master the pickup card.
Set Up Your Profile & Preferences
Head to Dashboard → Edit Profile. Add a display name, your pickup city, and neighborhood or general area so neighbors know who they're meeting.
- Pickup Locations: Save 1–3 spots (garage pickup, screen porch pickup, etc.). Listings can reuse these — no retyping.
- Payment Methods: Add the apps and accounts you accept — Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, cash at pickup, or anything else. Buyers only see these after you accept an offer, and you can set a preferred method to suggest by default.
- Pickup & Payment Windows: Set your general availability (e.g., "Mon–Fri 5–8pm, Sat 10–2") and how long buyers have to send payment and arrange pickup. These appear on your listings and pickup cards so expectations are clear before anyone makes an offer.
- Email Notifications: Scroll to Email Notifications on your dashboard. Toggle the categories you care about — Offers, Reservations & Sales, Messages, Payments, No-Shows & Strikes. The master switch turns everything off in one tap.
Tip: In-app notifications keep working even if you mute emails.
Make (and Receive) Offers
On any listing, tap Make an Offer and type your number. The seller can Accept, Counter, or Decline — all without DMs.
- If you make an offer, it's yours. Accepted offers reserve the item to you — be ready to pick up.
- Counters: Reply once with a new number, or accept the seller's counter. Keep it moving.
- Bundle offers: Group multiple items from one seller for a single price.
- Expiry: Pending offers expire automatically so listings never get stuck.
House rule: Ghost an accepted offer and you'll earn a strike. Be the kind of buyer/seller you'd want to deal with.
Work the Pickup Card
Once an offer is accepted, a Pickup Card appears on both dashboards. It's the single source of truth for the meet-up or pick-up.
- Seller — Release Pickup Details: Confirm the location and add notes. The buyer can't see your address until you release it.
- Buyer — Send Payment: Send payment to the seller via their preferred method, then confirm that you've sent the cash.
- Seller — Confirm Received: When funds land, confirm that you've received the payment . The card unlocks the final pickup step.
- Both — Mark Complete: After pick up, buyer and seller will both confirm that the items were picked up. Reliability scores update for both of you.
- Chat on the Card: Use the built-in messages for "running 5 min late" — no phone numbers required.
If something goes sideways, use Report No-Show on the card. Both sides get a chance to respond before any strike sticks.
