What we collect, why we collect it, and the controls you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account info (email, display name, password hash via our auth provider). Profile details you choose to add. Listings, offers, messages, and pickup details you create. Pickup location data you provide. Payment metadata processed by our payment provider (we don't store full card numbers). Device, log, and analytics data (IP, browser, pages visited, errors).
2. How We Use Your Information
To operate the marketplace, authenticate you, region-gate access, surface listings, facilitate offers and pickups, prevent fraud and abuse, send transactional and notification emails you've opted into, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Region-Gating & Visibility
GMM is region-gated. Addresses, exact pickup locations, and handles are never exposed to unauthenticated visitors. Pickup details are only shared with the matched buyer once a seller releases them. Reserved buyer identity is never exposed publicly.
4. Sharing Your Information
Other members: limited profile info, listings, messages, and pickup details necessary to complete a transaction. Service providers: payment processing, hosting and database, email delivery, analytics, and error reporting — only what's necessary to provide the service. Legal: when required by law or to protect the safety of members.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and aggregate analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may break parts of the service.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time.
7. Your Choices & Rights
You can edit your profile, manage email notification preferences, unsubscribe from non-essential emails, and request account deletion from your settings. Depending on your state of residence (e.g. California, Virginia, Colorado), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Children
GMM is not directed to children under 18 and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, role-based database access, and row-level security. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
10. International Users
GMM is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
